Renovation of a worn-out hotel to provide a residential hub that includes student housing, dining and conference facilities. The 125,000 SF project includes 236 beds, a 25,000 SF conference component and 25,000 SF of dining facilities. Exterior renovations complement the buildings of the main campus and include new pitched roofs, stucco exterior and replacement windows.
The first floor public spaces provide a vibrant, welcoming setting, serving both the residential program and conferencing center. Each residential floor contains approximately 32 upper class beds in a mixture of single and double rooms. Common spaces include floor lounges, along with an enclosed study room, laundry, recycling and study nooks at the end of the halls. Varied color schemes promote a sense of identity and variety between floors.
