The Butterfield Hall project is a phased renovation of a 90 year-old lab facility. The program includes flexible teaching and research labs and faculty offices for Union’s Converging Technologies initiative. The scope of work includes a new elevator and main stair and a gut renovation of the building. Additional program space is reclaimed from constructing a new floor in an existing two story lecture hall. The plan includes 3 phases allowing partial occupancy and implementation as funding becomes available. Bioengineering, Biomechanics, and Microscopy labs were completed in the first phases of the project from 2008-2010. Completion of the final phase- the Neuroscience Center was completed in late 2011.
