Hitchcock House was constructed in 1927. The renovation included a three story addition at the west side of the building, increasing the number of beds from 35 to 73. The aesthetics of the addition are closely matched to the existing building. The exterior of the building, which was in generally good condition, was selectively renovated, including replacement of the slate roof and windows. Exterior walls and roofs received foam insulation, and like Mayo-Smith House, much of the building’s hot water is supplied by solar panels on the roof.
